Die Weiße Maulbeere ist eine Maulbeerfrucht, deren Baum sich nach starkem Schnitt gut regeneriert. Der Ertrag setzt erst spät ein, erste Früchte kommen nach etwa fünf bis sieben Jahren; zudem leben veredelte Exemplare meist nicht besonders lange, weshalb wurzelechte Bäume empfohlen werden. An den Standort stellt die Sorte Ansprüche: Staunässe ist zu meiden, und die Winterhärte ist insgesamt sortenabhängig — anders als bei Kern- und Steinobst sind auch die jungen Triebe frostgefährdet. Die im Mai erscheinende Blüte ist sehr frostempfindlich.
